Hillary Clinton town hall meeting

Yes, I am in love. A gentleman who walked with my friend and I back to the car stated that he would remember shaking hands with her for the rest of his life. He said, "She is going to be the next President of the United States." That just sums up what happened yesterday afternoon on a cold, windy street in the West Central neigborhood. Not the Fox Theatre, but the 'hood. Spokane. Bless your heart, Hillary. Thank you.

Kevin Federline

Most of you probably are already aware of this, but just in case, Britney Spears visited with her children for the first time on Saturday since January 3. Kevin Federline wanted Britney to have some time with the kids. After two days of tense negotiations, lawyers for each side hashed out a deal. E! News reports:

Aside from Spears and a court-appointed monitor, there were several other key personnel on hand, including: Britney's father, Jamie Spears; a Federline security guard; and a lawyer from the Luce Forward law firm, which is handling Britney's conservatorship for Jamie Spears.
According to an insider, the 26-year-old pop star was not permitted to take the boys, ages two and one, into another room without the others watching.

Also present was a blind chimp with a bazooka.

How towns are redesigned as gyms

Stairs for cardio training. Wider footpaths instead of treadmills. To fight obesity, the towns we live in are being redesigned so we exercise without noticing.

Our forebears didn't need advice to exercise for 20 minutes a day, five times a week. Physical activity was part of everyday life - walking to work, wringing mangles and promenading in the park on Sundays.

Transit funding support in question

In an extreme example, back in the 1800s, along the then-bustling southern Illinois banks of the Ohio River, a group from the village of Chicago asked for a loan from a Shawneetown bank. According to local legend, it was denied on the grounds Chicago was too far away from Shawneetown to amount to anything.

Downstate, there are still hard feelings around the Capitol regarding the handling of electric rate relief last year. The plan addressed higher utility bills statewide, but the biggest increases were downstate. Despite tearful testimony and instances of bills tripling, it took lawmakers and the governor nearly nine months to reach an accord and provide relief.

Now, Chicago area mass transit has nerves on edge. And it is the increasingly heated tenor of this debate that makes a second approval of a mass transit bailout anything but guaranteed.

School superintendent position opening up

The 24 year old gym finally had an update on lighting that should have been done 15 years ago which is just one example. As far as George Thompson goes, I can't see how this would be a shock to him. He runs around with a smile on his face while saying "its about kids".. BULL****.. Its about him and his ego.. All he wants to do is put the screws to everyone he possibly can because he feels he was done wrong when he lost his teacher license a few years ago when he was caught cheating.. " .

Toying with success: Actor with Beverly roots cast in 'Pirates of the ...

Though Chin has scored minor parts in shows like "Everybody Hates Chris" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," as well as small roles in upcoming movies like "Bachelor No. 2" and "The Pink Panther 2," the fact he made it onto merchandise confirms his theory about "his look."

For most of his life he was clean-shaven, but when the salesman left Beverly six years ago to pursue an acting career, he grew a goatee and mustache. He believes the image has helped significantly in landing roles, and it was definitely a factor when the toy company Zizzle was deciding which pirates to feature.

"We chose the figures we used in that assortment, and all of our figure assortments, based upon who we knew, or were told by Disney, would have the most significant parts in the movie," said company representative Scott Goldberg, "and for whom we had the best reference to develop accurate likenesses in our figures." That is, the more distinctive or recognizable a character's look, the more likely he was to be immortalized in plastic.

The helicopter is made of foam and plastic and measures about 61/2 inches by 21/2 inches. The transmitter measures about 41\u20442 inches by 5 inches. "Fun2Fly" and "Microcopter" are printed on the packaging. The item number is printed above the UPC label.

Sporting goods stores and other retailers sold the toy from May through December for about $30.
